Welcome to this new site, dedicated to all those that have died giving us our freedom, and to the architects of that freedom, we are just at the beginning of a great adventure, discovering and preserving our military history.
The Trust`s Aim
The aim of The military Structures Trust is simple, to preserve and maintain military structures, that are of interest, or historical significance, be it "The Great Wall of China" to a " Pillbox" in the south of England.
These structures were fought and died for, and that sacrifice must be remembered throughout history, its okay to have a parade once a year and march past a memorial, no one died fighting for it, go and visit the places where these young men and women died, put something back into their hard work, and sacrifice, be it ten years ago or five hundred, the loss of life must still be remembered.
And there is the second bit, the innovation and design that some of these structures contain, as well as the technological developement that was neccassary.
We want people to visit these sites, and we want these sites used for re-enactment if possible, just to give a little feel of how it was, so people understand the deprivation and fear of attack, as well as the hard routine of military life.
And lastly, so veterans can go and remember the friends that they shared time with, in a close bond none of us can imagine, but can be seen in the faces of these brave men and women when they visit, and which can affect us all, "visit the Somme, if you wish to feel it ", and im sure there are other places just as moving,
Support the soldiers and military personnel from your country, whoever they are, and wherever you come from, they died to give you a better life !
